On August 3rd, 2024, Kuen Cheng High School’s annual choir competition finals
were held in the school hall. This year's competition was exceptionally challenging, as
students had to creatively include elements of classical Chinese poems in their
performance. After a fiercely competitive preliminary round, 12 classes were selected
by the judging teachers to advance to the final stage of the competition. The classes
were divided into two categories: Junior, which consists of classes from Junior middle
one to three, and Senior, which consists of classes from Senior middle one and two.
An announcement was made by the emcee, signalling the start of the competition
they had all been waiting for. The junior group took the stage to start the
competition, eager to show off their talent to the teachers and fellow friends after
months of preparation and practice. Each of the classes had their time to shine on the
stage, flaunting their skills and doing their best to stand out from their opponents.
One of the most memorable performances was by Jr1Z(2). Their adaptation of
Gravity - (Wan You Yin Li) by Silence Wang impressed many. Despite it being their
first time participating in this competition and thus having less experience than most
competitors, they stood out with their upbeat and lively performance. Their bright
costumes complemented the energetic nature of the music, crafting an unforgettable
experience for all.
Following the junior performances, the focus shifted to the senior groups. Each class
delivered beautiful performances, but a few classes notably stood out and made a
significant impact on the audience and judges.
