times each day on the web? The message you see each
day is what represents our current society, as it
creates unique personalities for each individual who

uses it. And thus, on the 16th of March 2024, the
Kuen Cheng Counseling Department held a talk
regarding internet safety. Speaker of the day was

none other than Mr Kenn Yeap Thiam Hoong, a
Media Communications lecturer from the TARUMT
Mr Kenn giving a speech regarding (Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management
                                    media safety. and Technology).
Social media is deeply ingrained in our daily lives, influencing our thoughts,

opinions, and even manipulating them. Controlling the flow of messages can influence
our favorite colors, hobbies, feelings, and mindset. Such a world shows how deeply
rooted social media is in our lives.

The speaker emphasizes the negative impact of social media exposure, including
cyberbullying, and emphasizes the responsibility of individuals to ensure their content
is responsible and not spread toxicity, emphasizing the digital footprint left by any
             message left on the platform.

Challenges, often perceived as harmless, can have dangerous intentions. Examples
include the "Salt Challenge," which can lead to strokes, heart attacks, or death, and

the "Skull Breaker Challenge" and "Tide Pod Challenge."

“Anyone can be attacked on social media, either harming your mental or physical
state.” says Mr Kenn Yeap. As stated, social media is a daily part of our lives, and it's
our responsibility to decide our impact on society. We should be responsible for our

actions online and strive to make it a more enjoyable and safe place.
