Sr2ScB’s Chinese FEB
Lunar New Year
Celebration
Jointly reported by Sr2ScB Goh Jian Mayne, Sr2ScB Yee Sue Wei
As Chinese New Year is just around the corner, students of Sr2ScB celebrated
Chinese New Year on the 3ʳᵈ of February, putting on impressive performances
and a ‘lo sahng’ tradition from 10:15 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
After the performances had concluded, a few students set up a few tables in the
centre of the class. They laid rolls of aluminium foil on it and placed the contents of a
“Yee Sang” onto it. Everyone crowded around the tables, and on the countdown of
three, the “Lo Sahng” ceremony began.
Sr2ScB's Chinese New Year Celebration ended with a swift cleanup, rearranging
tables, chairs, and mopping floors, signaling the end of the school year and
leaving many with a heavy heart (as they would be leaving school after SPM).
To bring the celebration to a close in the words of Sr2ScB’s form teacher, Ms. Ding
Poh Ling, “Senior life is short, and time goes by in the blink of an eye, so I hope all of
you can give all your might in living life to the fullest.” Wishing everyone a great year
ahead!
