On the 13th of January, Dr. Tan Ran
Zhi was invited back to Kuen Cheng High
School for his second talk since 2022 for
our Senior 1 and Senior 2 students. Dr.
Tan Ran Zhi is a forensic doctor with
more than 10 years of experience under his
belt, solving many cases and having
excellent insight into the various cases of
Dr. Tan Ran Zhi introducing himself)
accidents and homicide cases.
Dr. Tan Ran Zhi first shared a story
about a suspected homicide case to entice
the students into placing their focus on
him, which worked wonders. Following
that, he shared his education and career
path and introduced each of the institutes
he used to attend. He then proceeded with
a short video about the daily lives of Student's complete attention
forensic doctors, who in reality are not
that different from regular civilians.
After the short video, Dr. Tan Ran Zhi introduced the facilities and tools a forensic
doctor uses and how they use them during the dissection process. He proceeds to
introduce the way the tools are used and when they are used through sharing his
experiences and stories he had come across during his career. He interacted with the
crowd as they tried to guess the diverse uses of each different tool. Following that, he
stated the challenges of being a forensic doctor. Like regular doctors, they have to be
on standby constantly, and they have to keep their minds clear. This is so they can
respond to emergency calls accordingly and decisively to deduce the situation that had
occurred accurately.
