             Chinese Calligraphy Competition 2024

                                                        High     School     organised      a    calligraphy
                                                        competition  as  part  of  the  festivities  held  to
                                                        celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year.

                                                        students  were  seen  unrolling  their  newspapers
                                                        and  preparing  the  necessary  supplies  while

                                                        engaging  in  amiable  chatter.  Although  the
                                                        competition was originally supposed to be held
                                                        in  the  school’s  courtyard,  the  location  was
                                                        changed to the students' respective classes due
                                                        to  unfortunate  weather.  Nevertheless,  the

                                                        atmosphere  was  just  as  lively,  with  festive
                                                        Chinese  songs  broadcasted  throughout  the
                                                        school.

                  Like all the previous years, the senior and junior students were given the option of

             writing  their  manuscripts  in  either  Traditional  or  Simplified  Chinese.  The  teachers
             and Counselling Club members worked tirelessly to ensure that the competition ran
             smoothly, providing parchment and guidance to the students.


                     With  the  nostalgic  scent  of  calligraphy  ink  wafting  through  the  hallways,  ink-
             splotched hands were seen submitting their work as the competition came to an end at
             8:30 a.m. Some students were seen filing out of their classroom to participate in the
             other  festivities  lined  up  for  the  day,  while  others  were  spotted  posing  with  their
             works proudly. All in all, the success of the Chinese Calligraphy Competition started

             the Chinese New Year Celebrations on a high note.
