Department of
Business and Economics
Jointly reported by:
Foo Zhing Yee Sr2ScA, Goh Ying En Sr2ScB, Jocelyn Koo Wai Yee Sr2ScB
On 10th of July 2023, after the school sessions were over, students who pre-registered
for the alumni sharing session about business and economics gathered at C9 activity room to
attend the talk. Teacher Ms Tee Wan Chin from the Counseling Department who was the MC
of the talk, enthusiastically introduced the alumni one by one. After souvenirs were handed
out to the alumni, a group photo was taken.
Koh Khai Tung who was a freshman of Guanghua School of Management in Peking
University gave a perfect kick start for the talk. She shared that the Principal Referral Program
was the main reason that led her in deciding to continue pursuing her studies in Peking
University. She pointed out the education fee and living expenses are affordable plus she is
intrigued in studying abroad to gain more experiences in foreign countries. Besides coping
with her studies, she excitedly said that life in China is interesting as she also had her first
electric bike this year.
Low Kai Ling who studies at School of Economics in Peking University was a friend of
Khai Tung. Both of them were students from Sr3ComA’21. Kai Ling said that differing from
Guanghua School of Management, their school is more focused on academic research and
thesis papers rather than practical skills. Kai Ling is also a member of street dance and rap
club. She and Khai Tung too are members of MSAPKU, which is a non-profit organization
run by Malaysian students studying at Peking University.
