Kuen Cheng Parents’ Curriculum Briefing

n the 8th of July 2023, Kuen Cheng High School held a talk in the
Oauditorium for parents interested in sending their children to Kuen Cheng

High School in the coming Academic Year 2024.

Principal Madam Chua Lee Lee came onto stage as the first presenter. She first

thanked the participation of over 1000 parents from both the auditorium and YouTube Live.
She mentioned that the rapid changing society has somehow caused the learning we know
to be ineffective.

Following that, the Principal talked about cognitive and non-cognitive skills. In

particular, Madam Chua stressed on Social Emotional Skills. She believed that these skills
are an important protective factor to prevent mental issues.

Madam Chua continued to state that other than academic results, mental
growth through interaction is prioritised more. To promote students participation in co-
curricular activities, Kuen Cheng High School recognizes the importance of having a
Student’s Performance Record. This document will be a strong proof of student qualities
when it comes to applications of undergraduate studies in the near future.

Madam Chua also elaborated the importance of ongoing learning whereby
teachers must continue in order to grow and improve for the benefits of their students.

A video was then played to thoroughly explain the Student’s Performance Record and its
recording process.

Up next, the Academic Department Head, Madam Loh Hoi Yuen gave a
presentation about the curriculum. She explained in detail the education system of Kuen

Cheng High School and the overall course of studies.

Last but not least, parents went on a guided tour of the school campus by the

prefects when the talk ended at 9:50a.m. They showed curiosity and looked forward to
having the school of choice for their young children. Welcome!
