and Choking Charlie

From 31st July to 4th August of 2023, Kuen
Cheng High School organized a special event
dedicated to the 5-Uniformed Societies. During this

week many activities were held by all 5-Uniformed
Societies, while St. John Ambulance caught much
attention with their first-aid drill and services.

During the first recess, the Club set up a small

booth with two dummies on the table. People were
immediately attracted by the display. Turned out these
were to be used for practicing first aid for CPR and

choking. These CPR Doll models come with names,
they are separately called Rescue Annie and Choking
Charlie. Hands-on training has been provided to
participating students on CPR and the usage of the
AED machine. They also learned how to save someone

from choking. A cotton ball was placed in the throat
of Choking Charlie to simulate someone choking.
When the procedure was performed correctly, the

cotton ball will be forced out, which means that the
first aid worked perfectly.
