Assistant Head Prefect Wong Xi Hui expressed her appreciation to the Senior Middle
Three prefects and the executives of the Board. All the prefects had helped make her time on
the Board warm and touching. She also advised the Junior prefects to not doubt themselves

no matter how hard it gets. Even when we do have self-doubt, she hopes that we will forever
remember that we all have our strengths although we may not notice at times, there are
always times when we surprise her by how capable we are at things.

Siow Kar Shuen, who is a Senior Middle Three prefect, has also given the Junior
prefects several pieces of advice. One of the most unforgettable ones would have to be
“obey”. As a disciplinary body and a service group, obeying rules and instructions is vital to
ensure that we get things done successfully. She also mentioned that we learn better from

our mistakes. Therefore, we should never flinch when facing difficulties just because we
are afraid of making mistakes. Finally, to end her speech, she also advises us to never do
anything only for the sake of the benefits.

Chan Yong Tong, who was the Head Prefect of the year 2022, had shared several
unforgettable moments throughout her years on the Board. She mentioned that she was not
the best at marching during her probationary period, but with determination and endless
effort, she managed to overcome her difficulties and slowly got the hang of it. She also

mentioned that sometimes we may not be able to get what we want although we put in a lot
of effort, but as long as we have put effort in, it is always fine to reconcile with ourselves and
let it go.

As the senior prefects had ended their speech, the host announced that it was the gift-
giving session. The senior students were welcomed in front of the classroom to receive their
gift from their teacher-advisor, Ms Lim Siew Lian. The prefects then took a photo with all the
teachers-advisors.

Finally, to end the Farewell Party, the Senior Middle One prefects sang a Chinese song
named “Create billions of tons of light”. All the prefects sang together with passion. All the
prefects then took a group photo. Several prefects also stayed to take photos with the senior

prefects. Finally, the Farewell Party ended with tears of reluctance. Let us wish all the best to
the Senior Middle Two and Three prefects!
