On the 9th of July, Kuen Cheng High School organized a Parent-Teacher Interaction
day to increase the effectiveness of communication between students, parents, and
teachers.
In the class Jr2Z(3), preparations started one month ago, when students and their
Form Teacher, Ms. Lim Chern Mey, discussed what content to have on this important
occasion. They did surveys with the whole class on their favorite and least favorite
subjects, and also the mutual evaluation between students and all teachers of the class.
The event started at 8 am sharp, with an introduction to the class by the main emcees of
the event. They introduced their class flag and class culture. Then, they introduced all
the class’s subject teachers, including the evaluation from students to them. After that,
a video of the evaluation from each subject teacher to students was played. Next, it was
time to introduce the Class Committee. The committee members were introduced one
by one including their duties and responsibilities.
Then, it was time for the main part - students’ performances and grades. High graders
of each subject were shown proudly. Winners of competitions on and off campus were
also shown and congratulated. Ms. Lim then took over the baton by reporting the
class’s grades’ statistics and different activities taken part by the whole class.
Next is the fun part - the games! Parents were directed to answer a few questions
about biology and mathematics in Quizizz. Some parents were full of confidence while
others were having a hard time answering questions and at last, got it wrong. After the
games session, parents got a further understanding of the student’s schoolwork.
Last but not least, there were piano and electone performances by students. To end
the meeting, a group photo was taken. Parents who wished to communicate with the
class teacher were arranged into a breakout room according to the reserved time. In
the meantime of their turn, the game emcees hosted a game of Draw Something. With
that, Jr2Z3’s parent-teacher interaction day came to an end.
