Battling the Stigma
During 19th April 1987, Princess Diana of Wales visited
the London Middlesex Hospital and shook hands with
one of the patients who was terminally ill with AIDS.
It was her first open visit that has widely changed
the society's perception towards AIDS. It had also set
precedence for her upcoming tour to other hospitals.
