The constellation was taken on 1995, The finger-
like columns of gas and dust are part of the Eagle
Nebula, a star-forming region about 7,000 light
years away from Earth. This image was taken by the
Hubble Telescope. The project had cost $1.5 billion
to launch—and cost billions more to maintain.
Therefore, under the pressure from taxpayers and
politicians, NASA succeeded in capturing the first
image of deep universe. It made people realize that,
'Wow, Hubble really has been fixed" and "Wow, this
is what Hubble can show us." It was that instance
that science and history had shaped its irreplaceable
status in astronomy.
