The invention items Kuen Cheng High School students created never cease to amaze as there
were many new and interesting work presented during the day. These had included work being
produced by the Junior students; mechanical system without the use of machinery, aluminium
cans that can produce electricity, an automatic sensor door and a mail detector.

At the same time, we saw Senior participants bringing in many types of innovations. Some
were more practical and useful in our daily lives, like an extra piece of cloth surrounded and
attached to the umbrella when in use. There were other more complicated designs and was
meant for industrial use, like the wireless charging system for drones and a nutrition bar to
solve problems of hunger.
We saw a huge response for the Invention Competition this year as there were many partici-
pants waited in front of both labs for their turns to do the presentation. Mr Ooi has also men-
tioned that there was a noticeable increase in numbers of participants in the competition event,
and he has looked forward to seeing more innovation and creation from the students.
