As human civilization continues it’s development until now, we have heard of lots
of wars happening all the time. It can be regarded as an ‘important’ part of history and the
growth of human civilization. However, looking at the consequences brought by wars such
as World Wars I and II, it has brought more harm than benefit to the world. I agree with
the statement which states that ‘War is always evil, it has never solved any problems and
never will.’ Below are a few reasons to support my stand.
First and foremost, wars have caused a major loss in the global economy. While being
part of a war, participating nations would need to invest a lot of it’s money into war equip-
ment, or even developing deadly weapons such as nuclear bombs. This can be evident when
both sides in World War I, namely the triple Alliance and the Central Powers, had a loss of hun-
dreds of millions of dollars together, and their society had been stricken by poverty for years.
Riots have also emerged in Russia due to the country engaging the war even when the coun-
try’s economy was in a poor state. This event caused the uprising of the Communist and formed
the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), the first communist state in the world. Not
only had the war caused a huge economic downfall, but also a major change in human society.

claimed ‘significance’ over the others. This created motives to attack the other countries
and slaughtering its locals. These actions reached it’s peak during the second world
war, started by Nazi Germany captured the Jews and held them captive in Auschwitz,
Poland after a successful invasion to the eastern Europe country. Other than killing
them instantly, they carried various inhumane experiments on them and had them
killed my inhaling poisonous gases. About one-third of the Jewish population had been
killed during the war. Further examples include the Japanese invasion on China, most
known by the Nanjing massacre, which killed over 300,000 Chinese people. The war had
caused devastating destructions, creating torment and insecurity among the people.
Furthermore, wars have also altered the natural environment of the areas involved.
Some of the areas involved in the war had its environment damaged due to the mas-
sive warfare occurring in the area. During the Vietnam War, when the United States was
attacking communist North Vietnam, they poisoned some of the trees in order to counter
against North Vietnam’s guerilla tactics. This caused the jungles in Vietnam to be tainted
and furthermore caused it’s inhabitants to become genetically mutated. In addition to
that, the United States’ bombing at the regions of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan at the
end of World War II also created a major effect on these areas. It has destroyed almost all
of the natural ecosystem and most of the offspring generation of the locals had genetic
mutation. Wars severely destroyed the local environment and it’s local population.
In conclusion, I agree that wars have never solved any problems and it never
will, but it will cause irreversible damage to the world. Thus, wars should be avoided
by any means necessary and certain nations should halt any efforts which would cause
a war. The international society should advocate peace and unity among people and
nations across the world, regardless of ethnicity and religion. May the world be peace-
ful and prosperous and achieve unity among the global citizens in the near future.
