A Vial Penny slaved on throughout the witching hours, until dawn broke into rays of glorious sun-

of Hope shine. Her eyelids were starting to weigh a ton, her posture was starting to droop, but she persevered
through the drowsiness of her mind.

Don’t give up, don’t give up, it was a constant mantra replaying over and over in her drained

mind. Success draws nearer by the second, she reminded herself relentlessly.

Excitement bubbled within her. It sizzled up and thrilled her frenzied, electrified nerves. Her

Penny lifted her dreary, heavy-lidded eyes, and fixed them resolutely upon the gaunt face in the inside her.
mirror. Her eyes were two pools of abyss, ringed with dark, despondent circles.
Penny hadn’t slept for days, as she had recently been devoting her entire existence to a huge cause, an ex- Barely bating her breath, Penny carefully unscrewed the vial of antidote from the clamp. Gath-
tremely noble cause. Fatigue was starting to take a toll on her appearance, but not her mind—not yet. ering the gentlest of equanimity, she caressed the treasure with a heightened reverence, her heart

soaring unrestrained to the highest peak of pride.
Penny’s instincts told her that tonight would be the night. She was certain it would rewrite her

destiny, realign her stars as an aspiring young scientist who dreamed ardently of doing good in the world, of New gleam came alight in Penny’s eyes.
              contributing to humankind.

Penny was assured that every single endeavor of hers would finally blossom into luscious fruits of
reward very soon. It was an overpowering feeling, an inexplicably strong intuition set ablaze in the most
              profound depths of her heart.

Fueled with newfound energy, Penny drew herself to full height, and set to begin the final stage of
              the experiment.

Her calloused, long fingers worked expertly on the various lab apparatuses that were immaculately
laid across the rectangular lab table. Like a seasoned dancer, Penny whirled around the lab table at break-
neck speed, her eyes swishing to and fro around the table as she measured every milliliter and milligram of
chemical substance to the last decimal.
She was determined for this night to go down in history, determined to make her mark in the timeline of

              endless scientific discoveries.
