But when winter comes
                                        You will go too

                                        Away from the snow
                                        Away from the streets
                                        I will stand alone

In the heart of this shapelessness
                                        Thinking about you.
                                        Because I know
                                        There’s a seagull.

                                        Its eyes reflect lives
                                        And its calls capture colours
Of which I would never know.
                                        But I am not afraid.

                                        For you’ve taught me
                                        There’s something beyond this void
                                        Though I see no colours
                                        No faces behind voices

                                        You bring them to life.

                                        When spring comes
                                        I will go to sea

                                        To my seagull. https://collections.britishart.yale.edu/catalog/tms:42316
