The inventors of the selfie stick by Shura Washington
Do you take selfies with your smartphone? Do you use a “selfie stick”? I do, and in
my opinion, selfie sticks are a good idea. Now I can take great photo of myself and my
friends, I have my smartphone in the selfie stick in one hand, and I take the photo with the
other hand, I use remote control on my earphones. It’s very easy! But some people don’t
like selfie sticks. You can’t use them in some museums now, for example the Van Gogh
Museum in Amsterdam and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The first person to have the idea for the selfie stick was Hiroshi Ueda – in the 1980s!
Ueda was an engineer at the Japanese camera company, Minolta. He loved taking photos
in his free time. But when Ueda travelled to Europe on holiday, there was a problem – it
