As most of you know, Chinese education has existed in our country since 200 years ago.
In conjunction with the Chinese Education Week, Broadcasting Club members No matter what happened in the past, such as British colonialism, the formation of the
interviewed the Committee’s President, Lim Cai Pei from Sr2A and the Vice President, Alliance Party or the National Front, Chinese education grew stronger in the face of
Tang Wai Lok from Sr2ScB on 13th March 2022. adversity.
The preservation and promotion of Chinese education is never an easy task, thus we
hope that more people are aware of the importance of Chinese education and will help
in promoting it to the next generation. If there weren’t Chinese education, independent
Chinese schools would not exist at all; and if it weren’t for Chinese education, we
wouldn’t get the opportunity to learn Chinese in school too. Therefore, we really hope
that everyone will benefit from the Chinese Education Week. Thank you.
2. Are there any obstacles faced in the preparation of the Chinese Education Week?
How was it overcome?
Wai Lok mentioned that a shortage of time and an insufficient number of members in
the committee are the main challenges faced throughout the preparation process. There
are only a total of 7 Senior Middle Two students involved who also need to cope with
their academic stress making it a difficult task to complete when it comes to workload
distribution. However, all members are willing to allocate some time during the weekends
to attend the committee meeting. Wai Lok thinks that discussing the event as a team is
the most interesting part of the preparation process. Members are able to exchange ideas
with each other and thus the relationship between members is enhanced.
Students are highly encouraged to participate in the activities held during the Chinese
Education Week as we are able to gain much knowledge regarding the history of Chinese
education in Malaysia.
1. Why does the Chinese Language Society insist on holding the Chinese Education
Week? Jointly reported by:
Goh Zhi Xin Sr2ScA
Grace Low Shing Wei Sr2ScA
The term “Chinese education” is widely known but Cai Pei believes that not many Joshua Loy Kai Siang Sr2ScA
people have a deep understanding of it. Being an independent Chinese secondary school
student, even more so, as a Chinese, we have the obligation and responsibility to learn
and protect Chinese education. The ultimate purpose of holding this activity is to let
students and teachers have a basic understanding of the topic. Hence, the reason why the
Chinese Language Society insists on holding the activity is to defend Chinese education.
