ased on the Sexagenary Cycle of Ancient China, 2022 is the 39th year in the third Honorable Mentions
Bmillennium, also known as the first “壬寅” of this kiloannum, which can also be

found from a Lunar Calendar. As Kuen Cheng High School welcomed the arrival of
spring, a couplet-themed competition was held from the 5th to 22nd of January, but with Looin Hon Qing Jr2Z(3) 21595
a twist.

Unlike usual, participants were given couplet templates with specific words blanked out
on them, and their job was to fill in those empty boxes to the best of their creativity.
Contestants were also told to design the backgrounds of their couplets, too. The Grace Soh Yun Xuan Jr2S(3) 21613
competition was organized by the Committee of 2022 Spring Festival Cultural Week

After going through a round of judging by Ms. Theng Kai Joe, Mr. Chia Swee En and Mr.
Tan Chee Long, the results of the competition were announced via e-mail and the School’s Wong Zhi Xuen Jr2S(1) 21523
official Facebook page. The awards given were of two different categories, distinction and
honorable mentions.
