On the 21st of August, Class Jr3Z(6) held their Teacher-Parent Interaction Day along with all the other classes in Kuen Cheng High School, apart from Senior 3 classes. The objective of the meeting was to notify parents on their childrens’ educational progress and get to know the teachers of the class.
About two weeks beforehand, the Class Committee members had already started to prepare the presentation slides and data needed for the meeting. With help from the Form Teacher, Ms Avlyn Lau Hui Chwen, all the necessary preparations were completed within a week with only minor adjustments made later on. The class also held rehearsals during class meetings to make sure everything would run smoothly. A Google Form and Google Sheets timetable was then sent out to parents, the timetable allowing parents to choose individual meeting time periods with the Form Teacher.
On the event day, parents flocked into the Zoom meeting room as the class IT, Tan Wei Zun shared his screen, allowing parents to view the itinerary while listening to calm music before the event started. The event set off with a short introduction by the Class Monitors, Yen En Shi and Khoo Xin Yi, followed by a general class condition report by Ms Avlyn. Introductions for the class committee members, teachers’ assistants and subject teachers were then hosted by the Class Monitors as well as the subject teachers’ feedback session. During said session, parents were given 3 minutes to read or screenshot each slide.

Moving on, the Class Secretaries, Tan Mei Yan and Emelia Kong Wen Jia gave reports on several notices such as examination time periods, how to know if students have handed in their homework and more. These reports mostly acted as a reminder and answers to some parents’ questions. Then, the Class Monitors gave reports on the different activities that the class had participated in recently, most being activities given by the Class Monitor Society.
After the reports, parents were to leave and only come back a few minutes before their individual meeting time with the Form Teacher, but before the main meeting ended, a Q&A session was held in case of any questions parents wanted to ask. As parents prepared their questions, Ms Avlyn helped take a group picture with all the parents and students to commemorate the first ever online Teacher-Parent Interaction Day held by Kuen Cheng High School.
