On the 3rd of August 2024, the Academic Department of Kuen Cheng High School held an interactive talk for Senior Middle One students about life education, mainly focusing on the life story of silent mentors. Speakers from the Academy for Silent Mentor went into their respective classes to start the journey. For class Sr1ScH, the speakers for the day were Dr. Chin Kin Fah and Mr. Muhammad Afiq Qayum Abdullah.

The talk started with 3 minutes of silence, aimed at helping the students to relax their bodies and minds, being mentally prepared for the talk. An introduction to the late Madam Chris Lim Chui Chin was given. Born on 19th of October 1953, the strong lady being the eldest of 6 sisters worked at Everbest Insurance Agency. She was married for more than 40 years and had 2 lovely sons.

Fate dawned on Madam Chris when she was diagnosed with a motor neuron disease, and to make things worse, she had to remove one side of her breast due to breast cancer. Despite her indescribable fate, she remained positive throughout the way, continuing what she loved: singing, desserts, and charity. The soft spoken, strong, selfless, and compassionate lady gave her life to medicine before embracing the afterlife. It was mentally challenging for her family members to comply with her wishes, but influenced by her mother and sister, who were also silent mentors, they managed to help Madam Chris contribute back to the society.

Students, who were touched by the selfless action of Madam Chris, observed 3 minutes of silence and 3 bows to pay their respects to Madam Chris. Her spirit of great love led students to write down their wishes to Madam Chris and made a board of appreciation for her. The meaningful workshop ended with students sharing their thoughts on the brave decisions of silent mentors.
