Kuen Cheng High School’s Debate Club held a Farewell Party for members of Senior Middle Two and Three via Zoom on September 24th 2022, Saturday. The theme of the party was “Memories”, and they treated the event as an “Award Ceremony” for the graduating seniors.

The party started around 8:00 a.m. with an introduction to each graduating senior. The graduating batch was then told to annotate their signature on the background screen provided before taking a quick group photo of them. The Committee later shared an introductory video regarding the “Awards Ceremony” which led to a games session to find out who stole the grand trophy at the awards ceremony.

After a quick explanation, all the club members were split into 8 breakout rooms for the game session where the members of the Organising Committee pretended to be the witnesses, each potentially being the criminal in disguise. They cycled through each breakout room, giving their perspective of what happened during the preparation of the award ceremony.
The groups were given time to figure out who the criminal was before being sent back to the main room to reveal their theories and convictions. Of the 8 groups, 4 succeeded in finding out the true criminal, bringing forth the announcement video which showed one of the “cops” revealing the truth.
The video then transitioned into an adorably sweet dance video prepared by the 19’ student batch of the club members dancing to the song “Love You”《爱你》by 王心凌 in a lighthearted manner.

Following up, the club was split into two breakout rooms, one for the Chinese side of the club and one for the English side. For each side, the Committee prepared a video of the other members wishing the graduating seniors happy graduation. Both sides had also prepared a presentation, awarding the club graduates with wacky awards, such as the “Best Humour and Super Chill Award” and “Best Leader Debater and Progirl Award”.
