“Actually, I spent a month making this presentation.” Welcoming all parents, Ms Wong Ming Hui, Sr2ScA’s Form Teacher, wasted no time starting off her report.

29th July 2023, 10:30a.m., Ms Wong began Sr2ScA’s Parent-Teacher Interaction Day with an analysis on all graded subjects along with comments from each subject teacher. She then answered a set of commonly asked questions by parents regarding students’ grades, saying: “I can’t answer this, but I think it’s best for us to ask them (students) instead.”
Thus, regarding interpersonal relationships within the classroom, Ms Wong handed the presentation over to the class monitor, Chong Yichen, who proceeded to explain the class’ relationship over the past year and a half, including photos and videos of all the activities the class has participated in together.

Going back to Ms Wong, she revealed that she had requested for 10 of her graduated students to talk about their experiences in further education. Due to the differences in era, Ms Wong stated that she is unable to give an accurate representation of modern university experiences, hence why she invited several alumni to explain instead.
Among the alumni, there were some studying pharmaceutical studies, mechatronics, mass communication, statistics, architecture and more. Most study overseas, such as in Singapore, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Australia and even Ireland, though some are still studying in Malaysia.

Ms Wong proceeded to show a few video explanations before leaving the rest for parents to view in their own time, answering many of their doubts on further studies.
With that, Ms Wong ended the report at 11:30a.m. and moved on to the 1-on-1 meetings with each parent.

To help parents better understand and keep track of their child’s progress in learning, Kuen Cheng High School held its annual Parent-Teacher Interaction Day on the 29th of July 2023. The event for Class Sr3ScB started early at 10 am.
Mr. Foo Ming Choong, the Form Teacher, showed those who arrived several videos regarding gratitude towards our parents. The students of Sr3ScB then served tea to their parents and gave their parents a massage, to show their appreciation for their parents.

Next up, a Kahoot quiz game where the questions were about the student’s school life was played by both the students and the parents together.
By 10:30 am, two emcees began introducing the class committees and showcased a presentation on the activities the students have done. The Form Teacher then took over to present the average score along with the highest score for each subject. He informed parents about the dates of trial exams and SUEC exams before he ended the presentation.
Aside from that, the committee in charge beautifully decorated two bulletin boards for the parents to view and take a picture with. One consisted of the class’ names and various photos of the students’ school life up until that point, the other was a tree with the dreams of each student written on it.
As the opening for Parent-Teacher Interaction Day has ended, each family can decide if they would like to have a chat with the Form Teacher to know how their child is doing in school. However, as it was getting quite late, many opted to just collect their report cards without further meeting. Mr. Foo continued to talk about his students with great enthusiasm to the parents who stayed on to have a chat. Henceforth, the Parent-Teacher Interaction Day of Sr3ScB has come to a close.

On the 29th of July 2023, Kuen Cheng High School organised a Parent-Teacher Interaction Day event for Junior Middle Two to Senior Middle Three students. The aim of this event was to ensure that parents have a full understanding of their children’s learning environment and grades. This event was held at each and every one of the classes.
Students and their parents or guardians were asked to arrive at their respective classes before 8:00 a.m. As the bell rang, the classes began the day’s meeting.

Located on the eighth floor of block A, Jr3S(2) first had their emcees do an opening speech for the participants to get a full understanding of the program. Then, our monitor named Arinne was called out to continue the speech and brief the attendees on what their children had been doing in class. Then, the Form Teacher, Mr. Kan Chun Fye was invited to talk about our grading system and other related information.

After all the formalities when each class representative reported on the grades of their respective subjects, the report card was handed out. Soon, Mr Kan started meeting individual student’s parents to update them on their children’s performance in class. As many other parents were waiting, we interviewed several of them. Overall feedback was positive, with most commenting on how active our class is. However, some parents mentioned that they would have preferred an online event in future instead of coming to school physically.
All the while we were interviewing, a 20-minute long vlog of our class was playing in the background. It shows what happens in a day of our school life along with some random clips of our classmates goofing around.
At the end of the day, the event successfully ended as scheduled. Some classmates helped to restore our classroom to its original state while others went home with their parents. It was a great day indeed.

They proceeded to welcome the Form Teacher, Mr Chua Zhan Heing, who later took over and made a briefing regarding the school’s grading system and upcoming examinations. Next up was a report on the students’ overall performance in each subject and some feedback from the subject teachers, which included not only comments but also praise and encouragement as well.
