On Saturday, 22 February 2020, a special celebration was held to commemorate the Scout Movement worldwide and to honor Baden Powell, Founder of Boy Scout Movement. Kuen Cheng High School’s Air Scout and Girl Guides jointly hosted the week-long Scout Commemoration Week. The activity began from Monday, 17 February till Saturday 22 February 2020. In order to make sure that the flow of the ceremony will be running smoothly and efficiently, the two societies held many meetings and made plans for the activities before the campaign started.
During the week from 17 to 21 February 2020, a detailed display about the history of the scout movement and activities related have been jointly prepared by both Air Scout and the girl Guides. Students and teachers had the chance to learn about outdoor activities, living skills and techniques, during the second recess of each day. Primary activities include camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports. The set up and activities drew many crowds and had successfully created awareness among the school community. The Scouts and Guides did their best in showing the benefits of teamwork, the way to treat one another in a real brotherhood as well as sisterhood. It was a meaningful five-day event and also a big success for both the Kuen Cheng Air Scout and Girl Guides. We salute with the highest respect.
