Parents’ Day is the only day where parents could set their foot in the school environment. On 15 June 2019, students were accompanied by their parents to receive their mid-term examination results. To enhance the bonding between parents and students, Kuen Cheng High School had organized a variety of activities on that day.
On 8:00 a.m., the school started with the group of junior students. All of them had visited different places in school and some students touched their parents’ hearts by purchasing roses from the school Counseling Club. Besides that, the area around the lobby of Block A had a photo booth and Chinese calligraphy exhibition waiting for people to participate and visit.
An astonishing view for everyone on that day was a massive periodic table which had combined all the aprons made by the Senior One students earlier on the 18th of May. Passing through the beautiful piece of artwork, there were four science labs full of exciting experiments for students and parents to explore. Each and every experiment prepared by the seniors was related to the theme of the Science Week called World of Colors. Each of them had put their time and effort to conduct their experiment and had run through many times of pre-tests to achieve an excellent result on this Parent’s Day. Opposite to the labs, blood donation and book fair were also available from 8 in the morning till noon.
Throughout the classrooms around the school, the teachers of their respective classes were there to prepare their presentation and some activities for both parents and students to partake in and at around 10 o’clock, senior students started to arrive on school grounds to receive their results. Majority of the presentations presented by the teachers were listing of comments given by the subject teachers as well as the average score for each subject. For this year, not only report cards of student were given to parents, at the same time students prepared and gave a letter to their parents as appreciation of love.
The Parent’s Day event officially ended at noon and students then left the school with their individual results and some went home with mixed feelings about their latest academic performances. New chapter begins.
