The first Kuen Cheng Newsletter Club House Camp was held on 14th December 2023 from 7.40 a.m. to 3.00p.m. at Kuen Cheng High School. The event was open to all members of the Newsletter Club and saw an astounding attendance of over 30 members which included teachers, committee members and club members.

This was the first time the Newsletter Club had successfully organized an internal camp, physically held with much anticipation, and more is expected to come in the future. Both teachers and presidents of the Newsletter Club had great praise for the committee as the event was carried out smoothly. Everyone was looking forward to more interclub camps to be held in the future.

The theme and schedule of the camp

The event began sharply at 8 in the morning where participants were assigned into 5 groups, each consisting of four to five members. After the participants conducted a morning stretch and a warm up dance, the teachers, presidential team and committee members gave their speeches. The leaders of this event, Victoria Hwang, Nyo Wen Qi and Yap Yen Nee, each showed their gratitude for the amazing attendance of this event.
After that, a series of events were carried out which included an ice-breaking session, a camera workshop and a detective game. The ice-breaking session was a great method to allow participants to get to know each other. The camera workshop allowed the participants to further their knowledge in photography. The detective game was by far the most fun and interesting activity as participants had to work together to decipher the murder of a 14 year old student. By the end of all the activities, the participants got to exchange the points which were given to them throughout the activities for snacks and different gifts.

At half past one, participants were brought to the canteen to eat lunch. Everyone had a great time eating and conversing with each other. After everyone had gathered back in the main venue, the result of the detective game was revealed. Then, everyone grouped together to take a photo. After that, everyone went their separate ways and left while the committee members stayed back to return the classrooms to their original form.
