On the 3rd and 4th of September 2022, Kuen Cheng High School Physical Education Department organized a school-wide badminton tournament for all students and teachers with the assistance of the school’s badminton training team. Being a team-based competition, the rules divided the 16 teams into four groups, picking two from each to make up the quarterfinals, before becoming the traditional matchups.

The event began with a bang as the matches commenced almost immediately at 8:00 a.m. The assembly hall was extremely lively throughout the entire tournament, bustling with noises of people cheering and clapping for their teams. Courts 5, 6, and 8 were definitely the hotspots for the first day, as they had many supporters and attracted quite the audience. The first day was expectedly quick-paced and intense, and by 1:00 p.m, the contestants for the quarterfinals were decided.

On the second day, the excitement and competitiveness had not lessened despite the teams being halved in number. The event started out strong as two skillful teams, the National Team(国家队)and SWG duked it out and kept everyone on their toes with their excruciatingly close matchups. With that, the adrenaline roller coaster was on its tracks and didn’t stop until the finals, where the National Team and the Hairbrush Army (梳子军团)faced off. In the end, the Hairbrush Army won 2:0, having beaten the National Team in both men’s and women’s doubles.

As the event came to a close, the award ceremony was held before a group photo of all the contestants, organizers and staff members.
