On 14th September 2022, Kuen Cheng High School’s 5 Uniformed Groups had a marching performance located at the basketball volleyball court. The performing groups are the Air Scouts, Cadets, Girl Guides, St. John Ambulance, and the Prefects.
All teachers were seated at 7.30 a.m. Then the ceremony started with Principal Dr. Chua Lee Lee giving a speech. Marching requires high concentration to listen to the commands of the leader. She appreciated the effort of the uniformed groups for sacrificing their recess time to rehearse for this performance.
After the speech, the daily flag-raising ceremony was held. Then, the marching performance officially started. Air Scouts took the lead, followed by Cadets, Girls Guides, St. John Ambulance, and Prefects. Every marching performance was specially designed to be inclined with Malaysia Day on 16th September. Lastly, a group photo was taken to end the ceremony.

After the marching performance, we interviewed the lead planner of the activity, Brandon Lim Jenn Jye from Sr2ScG. He said that the purpose of this performance was to act in concert with Malaysia Day and to restore the vitality and discipline of the 5 uniformed groups. They showed their patriotism in the form of marching on the basketball court.
Brandon stated that the help provided by the Co-curricular teachers and the teams was indispensable. They gave him guidance and helped him throughout the planning of the activity. The biggest difficulty faced was to not affecting the students’ study time. They kept coordinating their performance time as when each performance time is fixed, it will be difficult to change, so it takes constant discussions and adjustments within the groups before the final performance can be presented.
Lastly, a huge thanks to all the Members of the Organizing Committee, teachers, and the 5 performing groups for all of your hard work to present a perfect and interesting performance.
