The current pandemic has lasted for two years, and students from Kuen Cheng are forced to stay at home with no access to the school’s or public libraries. In order to provide a reading platform for students and teachers, Kuen Cheng High School’s Library has participated in the “2022 Airiti eBook Malaysia Alliance Program” (“2022华艺电子书大马联盟计划”), supplying students with purchased ebooks with the help and cooperation of 21 other independent Chinese secondary schools.
Currently, the alliance provides 370 sets of books. Aside from the collaborative purchase of 70 of the books, the Airiti eBook Malaysia platform also donated an additional 300 books with unlimited copies in a year. Categories include business management and finance, literary novels, art designs, comics and graphic novels, encyclopedias, humanities and social sciences, parenting, languages, computers and technology and more. Teachers and students are allowed to log into the Airiti ebook platform as their school email address is applied.

Due to the authorities’ regulations, students of Kuen Cheng are only allowed to read the books that are purchased. If the students are interested in reading the other books, they would need to purchase them by themselves.
As our school has a large number of students and teachers, there are some limits to book-borrowing: A single account is only capable of borrowing and reserving two books at the same time.
Each reader is allowed to borrow two books at once for a week. Readers can either read online or offline. Reading online enables one to read without installing additional software or programs. On the other hand, reading offline requires readers to install the Airiti Reader software. Both ways support PC, iOS (iPad/iPhone) and Android mobile phone and tablet.

Once the book is borrowed, the “Borrow” button will be replaced by the “Return and Renewal” button for readers to return or renew borrowed books. Books that are read offline will be automatically returned and removed from the device upon expiry. Meanwhile, books that are read online will be returned automatically upon closing the browser. The same button can be used to renew books. As long as the book is not reserved, users are free to renew books, and each book can only be renewed once.
