During Kuen Cheng High School’s weekly Independent Learning Day on the 24th of June 2023, the students of Junior Middle One and Two gathered in their respective classrooms for a film appreciation event, which featured a Hallmark Hall of Fame film entitled ‘Front of the Class’.

‘Front of the Class’ is a 2008 docudrama film that tells the story of Brad Cohen, a boy who suffers from Tourette’s syndrome, and how he defied criticism, derision, and discrimination to achieve his dream of becoming a teacher, even going on to receive the prestigious Teacher of the Year award.

The students thoroughly enjoyed watching the film as they enthusiastically followed through the ups and downs of Brad’s story. One of the most memorable moments of the activity was when the students couldn’t resist joining in with their own thunderous applause during the scene where Brad received the Teacher of the Year award at the ceremony.

Each student was incredibly moved and inspired by the film, and resolved to work towards achieving their aspirations without letting any adversities hinder their way.
