It was like a vivid dream, as the past 6 years of their high school lives went by all too quickly, and there they were, on the 10th of December, the Senior Middle 3 students of Kuen Cheng High School found themselves brisking through the final day of their high school lives. The 66th Graduation Ceremony was held in Lee Shin Cheng Hall, attended by graduates, teachers and parents.
Though the ceremony started at 9:30 a.m., many students and parents arrived much earlier to take photos together. While waiting in the school hall, a video collage was displayed, capturing the students’ school life throughout the past year. Graduates were also given a red badge which was shaped similarly to the orchid in the school logo, along with a decorative orchid brooch.
As the ceremony started, Members of the Kuen Cheng High School Board of Governors were welcomed into the hall before the national anthem and school anthem were played. A speech full of blessings and advice was given by our Chairman, Tan Sri William Cheng Heng Jem, and then followed by the Principal, Madam Dr Chua Lee Lee.

Next up were the graduation certificates and certificates for class committee graduates. For the former, each class was represented by their class monitor to receive the award, whereas the selected students of each committee position represented the other committees in the latter. Every graduate also received a graduation gift in the form of a “Kuen Cheng Passport”.
Receiving Graduation Certificates
Moving on, awards were given to students with excellent grades and improved academic performances. All graduates from specified clubs were given certificates for their contribution and for bringing honour to the school as well. Then, there were awards for academic excellence, given to three selected students from the junior and senior category respectively. Students with outstanding co-curricular performance were awarded too.
After all the awards, there was a donation segment where RM70,219 was raised by the graduates in contribution towards the school’s development.

As the song came to an end, a student representative led the graduates in thanking the School Board, teacher, parents and even fate. It was a sight to behold as all the graduates bowed their heads in gratitude.

Orchids may bloom, similarly as they will wilt, but the graduates will forever remember the white and red orchid logo, symbolising a high school life they will cherish for an eternity. As everything has to come to an end, the ceremony came to a close around 10:45 a.m. with a group photo. However, there is no doubt that the graduates’ love for their high school lives will never end. Happy graduation, Senior Middle 3 batch of 2022! Wishing you all a bright and brilliant future.
