Chinese Lunar New Year’s Blessing Message Competition

Every year, Kuen Cheng High School has a tradition of holding multiple competitions and events for one whole week to celebrate Chinese Lunar New Year. One of the competitions held during the spring festival this year is the Chinese Lunar New Year’s Blessing Message Competition which was held from the 5th of January to the 17th of January 2022.

This competition was opened to all the teachers and students of the school to participate, with the aim of creating a joyous atmosphere and promoting students’ creativity. The competition was introduced to the students through the school’s official Facebook page and by the monitors of each class.

To participate in the competition, the participants had to record a video no longer than a minute and submit it through Google form. The participants would have to state their class and name before starting the New Year’s Blessing.

Every single blessing would only be 4-characters long, with the first word of each blessing having the same or similar sounding word as the last word of the previous blessing. No editing was allowed on the video, and the judging was based on the blessing itself and the number of blessings the participant can come up with within the minute-long video.

The results of the competition were announced and posted on the school’s official Facebook page for all to see. With the blessings of the participants, we sincerely wish everyone a joyous and festive Chinese Lunar New Year!
