On the 26th of December, 2022, the Kuen Cheng Newsletter Club (KCNC) held its final online activity of the year — a farewell party to send off its Sr3 graduates and Sr2 school leavers. The theme of the party was “A Ticket to Dreamland”, where students would embark on flight DREAM2022 to reach their dream destinations.

The farewell party began with opening speeches from the head organisers, Khoo Xin Yi and Koh Huey Shin, who thanked everyone for participating even during the holidays, and thanked the committee members for their hard work in coordinating the event. Lee Zilin, Vice President of the Newsletter Club, also gave a few words on behalf of the presidents.

Teachers-in-charge Ms. Theng Kai Joe and Ms. Song Yin Ying both took turns in thanking the graduates for their contributions to the club, and hoped that the skills they had picked up during their time here (such as editing, reporting and typesetting) would be useful in the future.

Next up was the Games Session, in which participants entered separate breakout rooms to solve games or puzzles prepared by the Committee.

Games Session

In “Password Unlocking”, participants had to guess a 4-digit code from hints given by the Game Masters; in “Story Solitaire”, participants’ impromptu skills were put to the test with keywords they had to form sentences with; in “Who is the Spy?”, participants had to guess which person in the group had a different keyword from the rest.

After an exciting session of minigames, participants returned to the main room to watch a heartwarming recap of the Newsletter’s Club entire year, along with videos of blessings for graduates and school leavers from members of the Club.

To wrap up the farewell party, Khoo Qi represented the Sr3 graduates in giving a speech. After four long amazing years in the Newsletter Club, she would be leaving with four years of reporting and typesetting skills, skills that would certainly be useful to her in university. She expressed her satisfaction with the progress that KCNC has made thus far, and emphasised the importance of being willing to learn new things.

With that, Kuen Cheng Newsletter Club’s Farewell Party came to an end. We sincerely wish the Sr3 graduates and Sr2 school leavers all the best!
