Dr Ryosuke Ohniwa, Associate Professor, from the Faculty of Medicine of University of Tsukuba, Japan made a special visit to Kuen Cheng High School on Thursday, 16 May 2019. According to Dr Ohniwa, Japan’s Ministry of
Education has amended its policy to allow for its universities to set up branch campuses overseas, and Malaysia will likely be the first country to have a Branch Campus of University of Tsukuba, this was changed recently following
a request from our Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir bin Mohamad. During the meeting today, two guests from Japan Graduates’ Association of Malaysia (JAGAM), respectively, they are Mr Gary Tang, President of JAGAM together with its Vice President, Mr Chin Weng San, have also been invited to share successful overseas studies experience in Japan that has direct impact of a future career path for students who decide to do so.
Principal of Kuen Cheng High School, Dr Chua Lee Lee extended a warm welcome to our privileged guests and looked forward to having a closer rapport with all and working on more education related topics for the benefit of
students. The Principal was accompanied at the meeting by Head of Academic, Ms Loh Hoi Yuen, Secretary cum PR, Ms Cynthia Chee and two student representatives, respectively, they are Chee Jia Xu from Senior Middle Three Science 3A (who also holds position as Secretary of Japanese Language Society) and Lena Woo Xiao Hui of Senior Middle Two Science 2C. It was truly a fruitful and meaningful day of exchanging of ideas and discussions.
