A week after students from every other Level have held theirs, Senior Middle Three classes held their teacher-parent interaction day on 28 August 2021 (Saturday), which began at 8am. This article will focus on Sr3A and their experiences.
Students and parents alike entered the Zoom meeting room and were greeted with the class song, written for the relevant interclass competition held in the past month. The day then shortly began with the class emcee giving a brief overview of the class.

The Class Monitor then introduced the class flag made earlier in the year for another relevant interclass competition. It utilised the concept of Chinese patchwork (百家布), where every student brought their own piece of cloth and stitched it onto the flag. At the back of the flag were wishes from teachers who have taught Sr1A, Sr2A and Sr3A, arranged into a heart
Next, the class song was introduced in detail by the lyricists. They explained that it overall symbolised the feeling of looking back fondly on school days after graduation. The lyrics sampled parts of “Heartbeat” (“新的心跳”) by G.E.M and “Under The Cloud” (“飞云之下”) by Han Hong and JJ Lin., which were used in the class’s interclass choir competition entry back in 2019. Moreover, the chorus sends a motivating message: that we should keep fighting for our dreams in the face of adversity.

Following that, the Class Committee Members, Subject Assistants, and Graduation Committee members were listed and introduced.
That was followed by a simple game! It was called “文A高手” (“Sr3A Experts”), where parents had to guess which Marvel-ified caricature (drawn by the Class Academic Coordinators) and quirky nickname belonged to their child. After 15 seconds the answers were revealed and special nicknames were given more context by the emcees. It was a fun little activity as parents learnt about their children’s life outside of home.
Students were drawn as Marvel characters and given quirky nicknames.
Next, Subject Assistants shared their Subject Teacher’s wishes towards the class, as well as explained how online classes had been carried out.
The Form Teacher Ms Yee Fui Voon then took over, first giving a brief overview of students’ results this past semester. Highest scorers of each subject, subject pass rates (of which 100% was achieved), and the range of marks achieved for each subject were presented.
After that, Ms Yee shared the results of a survey she had done about the students’ lifestyle. She asked questions relating to stress, friends, further education, and how happy they were.
Finally, she shared some warm, touching words students had written for their parents, which thanked them for raising them well all these years.
