The vice chairman of China Overseas Exchange Association, Madam Qiu Yuan Ping and delegation visited  Kuen Cheng High School.

“This is the perfect example of a Chinese school when it comes to overseas Chinese education. There are Chinese elements and traditional Chinese culture everywhere”, said Madam Qiu Yuan Ping.

Madam Qiu Yuan Ping stated that the Chinese had experienced successive changes of life and that people were scattered around the world due to war and also other reasons, however, the Chinese still held the traditional virtue of honoring teachers and upheld the value of the Chinese education. “Wherever there is land and sea, there will be Chinese; wherever there is Chinese, there will be Chinese schools” , she continued to say. Madam Qiu Yuan Ping also indicated that only a handful of Chinese school with historical background are  left and one of them is Kuen Cheng.

Other than that, Madam Qiu YuanPing pointed out that China is the world’s second largest economy by nominal GDP and the nation’s strength and international prestige have increased tremendously and is still expanding.

The Chinese language has a great demand and is listed as the second most popular language to learn in many countries.

Besides, the relationship between China and Malaysia is very well established as trade between both countries has exceeded 900 billion U.S. Dollars . Madam Qiu YuanPing said that Malaysia is also in need of talents who are proficient in the Chinese language and has deep understanding of both countries’ culture.

On that very same day, The China Overseas Exchange Association presented valuable books which are worth more than 4000 U.S.D.

Madam Qiu Yuan Ping represented the Association and presented “华星书屋” plaque to Kuen Cheng Board Chairman Tan Sri Dato Lee Shin Cheng and Principal Mdm. Gooi Swee Gaik. According to Mr. Kuang Jian Jiang, the Head of Department of International Study & Training of China Overseas Exchange Association, currently Malaysia has 19 pieces“华星书屋”and will reach to 24 pieces by year 2013.
