Kuala Lumpur, 16th & 17th July 2024 — Kuen Cheng High School delivered a remarkable performance at the MSSWPKL (Majlis Sukan Sekolah Wilayah Persekutuan Kuala Lumpur) Swimming Championship 2024, held at the National Aquatic Centre, Kuala Lumpur Sports City.

The school’s swimming team showcased outstanding talent and sportsmanship, competing against top swimmers from various schools across the Kuala Lumpur region. Their hard work and dedication paid off, earning them multiple medals and accolades in various categories.

On day one of the competition, the girls from the 13-15 age group, including Teoh Yu Shuen, Ong Zi Yi, Alyssa Yeoh Yun Qi, Chan Phui Ling, and Adelle Seow Ya Hann, earned silver among the seven teams in event #149 Girls 13-15 4×100 LC Meter Freestyle B15 Relay. Following this was event #151 Girls 16-18 4×100 LC Meter Freestyle B18 Relay, where Yong Zoe Yee, Low Yu Jie, Ho Xin Pei, and Wong Canya strived for gold.

On day two, leading the charge was star swimmer Low Cheok Fung, aged 14, who clinched silver in event #222 Boys 13-15 200m fly B15. The meet concluded with the girls’ team securing gold in event #235 Girls 16-18 4×100 LC Meter Medley B18 Relay, featuring swimmers Ho Xin Pei, Low Yu Jie, Yong Zoe Yee, and Hemashree Sugenthiram.

Other participants, including Teoh Jet Shaun, Shaun Yeoh Jer Sern, Khoo Long Yik, Lee Han, Lai Le Zhang, Tan Zhuo Hong, Lee Jing Xuan, Wong Shi Xuan, Wong Tze Heing, Lee Seng Hey, Chloe Tan Xuen Yi, Tan Wen Le, Johnathan Tu, Hung Xuen Aan, Lim Kai Jie, Lim Yang Ting, and Sim De Xin, also saw their hard work pay off with the experiences and memories gained. Their personal record-breaking times have set new benchmarks for themselves.

As Kuen Cheng High School continues to foster young talent, the future of its swimming team looks incredibly promising. The MSSWPKL 2024 has not only been a platform for showcasing skill but also a testament to the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie that defines the school’s athletic ethos.
