On July 13, 2024, the 2024 Kuen Cheng High School Science Week Committee held the finals of the science knowledge competition for Senior Middle One students. The event began promptly at 8:10 a.m. in a classroom.

In the semi-finals, six teams of three contestants each, representing their respective classes, tackled a paper entirely in English. The paper covered eight subjects: mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, linguistics, earth science, philosophy, and astrophysics. Each team was required to answer two out of three questions within 40 minutes, collaborating and distributing tasks to maximize efficiency.

The finals lasted 40 minutes and followed a quiz format. The three teams were arranged in a semi-circle, with each table equipped with a bell. The questions were categorized into starting questions and bonus questions. Contestants had to ring the bell to indicate their readiness to answer. A correct response earned the team ten points, and they were also given three bonus questions worth five points each. Teams could ring the bell before the host finished asking the question, but if they answered incorrectly, five points were deducted.

Initially, Sr1ScA took the lead with a strong performance. However, as the session progressed, Sr1ScC made a comeback and ultimately won 1st place with 155 points, just five points ahead of Sr1ScA. Sr1ScD finished in third place. Mr. Ooi Hun Huang, Assistant Admin Head of the Academic Department, awarded certificates and souvenirs to the contestants in recognition of their hard work and sportsmanship.
