In conjunction with Kuen Cheng Science Week 2024, the Science Week Committee arranged a talk for students of Senior One Science. Lecturers from the Management and Science University (MSU), Miss Anita Zara Weinheimer and Mr. Abdul Muhaimin Ahmad were invited to give a talk about the Forensic Science of Bones and An Overview of Congenital Heart Disease, respectively.

Miss Anita first gave our students a brief explanation of her career background, followed by an introduction to forensic science. She then carried on by talking about roles to being a forensic anthropologist. DNA identification, bone reconstruction, human anatomy, and multiple interesting topics were explained.

Miss Anita then proceeded to talk about certain investigations and crime cases that occurred in the past. To encourage students to actively participate in this talk, a small quiz was held by Miss Anita. Several students were later rewarded with a small gift after successfully answering questions.

Next, it was Mr. Abdul’s turn. He proceeded to give students a brief rundown on congenital heart disease. He introduced a few types of this disease, namely Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), Tetralogy of Fallot and many more. He also included a few interesting cases he received at his clinic. After his sharing session, he also asked questions, and small gifts were given out accordingly.
