On the 24th of May 2024, a grand Teacher’s Day Celebration was held in the school hall. Teachers were ushered into the hall, accompanied by the warm welcome of the students with thunderous applause. The morning event began with a musical performance of “The Greatest Show” and “You Raise Me Up” brought by a band held by a group of Senior Middle One students who called themselves “17 Giants”.

Following the performances that have uplifted the celebration, our Vice Secretary of the Board of Governors, Madam Chow Sow Fong, the Principal, Madam Chua Lee Lee, and the presidents of the Teacher’s Day Celebration Committee gave their respective speeches. Right after, they remained on stage to open couplets, words of blessings in calligraphy, indicating the official opening of the ceremony. Meanwhile, all teachers were invited to go on stage and conduct a cake-cutting ceremony. Teachers and students then sang a birthday song to celebrate this memorable moment as our VIPs and Principal cut the cake.

After the cake-cutting ceremony, the Teacher’s Day Celebration Committee presidents announced a special gift for all teachers: a multifunction bag, a token of appreciation for their dedication and hard work. Afterward, the “Long Service Awards” were given out to teachers who have worked in our school, separately, for 10 years, 15 years, 25 years, and 30 years. The teachers were invited on stage and accompanied by their students and colleagues and were gifted with precious rewards for their dedication to the school.

After the awarding time, two performances named “We Dance” and “Let it Dance” were then brought to us by members of the Rhythmic Gymnastics Club and a student-organized KPOP dance group called “Budubiu”, injecting energy and excitement into the event.

Soon after, a retirement ceremony was carried out for two beloved teachers from Kuen Cheng Kindergarten. A video of the cute kindergarten students was shown on the screen as they expressed how they appreciated the teachers’ devotion. After the video was finished, their former students together with their parents then went on stage one by one to give their biggest presents to convey their heartfelt gratitude.
The celebration concluded with a delightful performance by the kindergarten students, who danced and sang on stage, bringing smiles to everyone’s face. The Teacher’s Day Celebration ended on a high note, leaving all attendees with a sense of joy and gratitude, as well as strengthening the bond between teachers and students, creating cherished and heartwarming memories for all.
