On the 23rd of November 2023, Kuen Cheng High School organized a Deepavali Celebration in honor of the Festival of Lights celebrated approximately two weeks before. A Henna Hand Drawing Session was held with the Lighting Lamps ceremony and the Kolam Competition. All of the activities were held on the second recess of the day at the lobby of Block A.

There were multiple tables lined up together at the open-air parking lot where the Henna Hand Drawing Session was held. There were 16 assistants consisting of teachers and students gathered from the Henna Workshop that they’d attended a few days before.

Students queued patiently for their turn as there was a huge crowd waiting for their hands to be drawn. On the assistant’s table, there were multiple Henna patterns to pick from, ranging from complex ones to simpler ones. Usually, students would prefer to get their Henna done on their wrists or the dorsal side of their hands.

The assistants patiently drew students’ hands one by one according to the pattern of their choice. They used a Henna cone by a brand called “Maharani” to draw on the students’ hands. The event has been successfully pulling in a big crowd and adding joy to the festive season!
