In order to ensure that students are able to continue studying without difficulties, students and teachers from Chung Hwa Independent High School of Kelantan traveled all the way from their hometown to host fundraising events in Selangor. They stayed in Kuen Cheng High School’s hostel during their fundraising journey.
On 26 June 2023, they were scheduled to seek donations from individuals at Kuen Cheng High School and Kuen Cheng Kindergarten. They first visited Kuen Cheng High School to ask for funds. Prefects guided the 17 representatives from Chung Hwa to their assigned locations. Representatives then went to classes and collected funds with the prefect’s guidance.
The reactions of each class were surprisingly enthusiastic, according to the representatives. A plethora of rainbows filled the donation box, and each student donated whatever they could. Some loose foreign notes and cents were also found after the donation activity. The representatives thanked each class’s students with much gratitude.

During the process of counting the donations’ amount, we managed to interview several of the students and teacher representatives from Chung Hwa Independent High School of Kelantan on various questions. Student representatives are moved by the enthusiasm and kindness of students at Kuen Cheng High School, stating that their response was far different from the public. Both teacher representatives, Ms. Tan Soa Hwa and Ms. Pee Yoke Leh hope their student representatives learned valuable lessons throughout this journey. In addition, we also managed to interview the preschoolers from Kuen Cheng Kindergarten. To them, this was yet another happy day, and the event was enjoyable for them.

At the end of the day, they successfully raised RM 56,270 from both Kuen Cheng High School and Kuen Cheng Kindergarten. After calculating the total amount of money collected, they took a group photo with the Kuen Cheng Newsletter Club’s student reporters to commemorate this wondrous event. It was a joyous day for both Kuen Cheng And Chung Hwa Independent High School’s students.
