A special project was created to foster a festive atmosphere for Teacher’s Day and at the same time provide our students with the opportunity to express their gratitude to teachers. The Committee Members of the Teacher’s Day ceremony, in collaboration with the Art Club, Monitors Club, and the Broadcasting Club, organized the Letter Sound Pavilion from 15th May to 25th May 2023. During this period, the Committee broadcast and dedicated the students’ heartfelt messages to teachers throughout the school.

The activity was conducted through collecting written letters and placing them in designated mailboxes. Participants have the option to use either the provided cards, paper, and envelopes, or they can prepare their own. The mailbox is divided into two sections: the first is for those willing to have their letters broadcasted and sent out by committees, while the second is for those who prefer to have their letters sent out by the committees without broadcasting.

Students Writing Their Appreciation Letter

The main person in charge of the Letter Sound Pavilion, Ke Ying, expressed that the primary intention of this activity is to provide a platform for students to express gratitude to their teachers through letter writing. Often, students may feel hesitant about having a heartfelt conversation with their teachers in person or passing the letter they have written to them directly. Therefore, the organizing committee played the role of a postman through this activity, and helped in delivering the students’ letters of appreciation to their teachers.

Ke Ying shared that overall, they did not encounter many difficulties during the event. The only challenge they faced was the rather short time given for creating the mailboxes. Initially, they were concerned that the Art Club, which was assisting in the event, might not have enough time to complete designing the mailbox, and they were worried about the final product being made in such a short time. Fortunately, the Art Club managed to create the mailboxes in just a few days, and the final products turned out surprisingly beautiful. Ke Ying extended special thanks to the Art Club for their dedication.

The Mailbox

Finally, Ke Ying mentioned that initially, they were worried about the response to this event and were not optimistic. However, through their efforts in promoting it, more and more students came to discover and participate in the event. Every recess time, there would be students heading to the new canteen to write and submit the letters. When sorting the letters, they were surprised by receiving the overwhelming number of letters. This greatly warmed the hearts of the Committee Members, and as a result, they considered the event highly successful and a meaningful one.
