On 20th May 2023, The Bulan Bahasa Sajak Competition Final was organised in the school music room, creating an intense competition between all the participants involved. For the instructions, participants were required to finish their recitation within 3 minutes and a bell would be rung for each passing minute. Participants were required to introduce their names and the title of their poems before starting off and ending their recital, which required their names and classes.
At 8.00 a.m. contestants from the Junior category started according to their turns. There were a total of 18 participants and the competition lasted till 10.35 a.m. There were two judges, Cikgu Faeza and Cikgu Safura, who provided fair mark allocations based on participants’ intonations, voices, pronunciations and gestures with postures.
As for the Senior part of the competition, the eligible participants were from Senior Middle One to Three. The competition was held in the music room too, starting at 10:40 a.m. with the head of the working committee explaining the rules of the competition, which was to inform the participants on the fixed format and timing. After that, the participants were asked to draw lots to decide the order of their performance.
There were a total of 18 participants that were competing in this event for Seniors. At 10:50 a.m. the competition officially started with Julian Yeoh Chin Ahn from Sr2ComA, the title of his poem was “Sejadah Rindu”, written by Mohammad Haikal Aminuddin.
The competition ended at approximately 12:25 p.m. with an ending speech by the organising committee. Cikgu Faeza and Cikgu Safura indicated in saying that the voices of every finalist are surprisingly good, however, for the Junior category, most are said to be too rigid during their performances. Hence, students are suggested to be more readily prepared before the competition.
