Kuen Cheng High School organised a series of activities to celebrate Eid-al Fitr, including a photo booth, wau blessings, a fashion show and more. A karaoke event was held on the 17th of April to accentuate the joyful Hari Raya mood. A small group of musical instrument players were there to accompany the karaoke singers, such as a guitar, a ukulele, a keyboard, and a tambourine.
Many teachers and staff came to participate in the karaoke singing, all dressed in stunning traditional Malay clothing. The event began with “Selamat Hari Raya”, a song by Saloma, sung by a few students from Sr2ComA. Next up, the song “Seloka Hari Raya” by Uji Rashid and Hail Amir was presented by various teachers.
Besides the teachers, staff and students singing in the middle of the spotlight, many onlookers also sang along merrily with them. After that, “Suasana Hari Raya” by Anuar Zain and Eilina, as well as “Menjelang Hari Raya” by Dato’ DJ Dave were performed by different groups of students, all hyping up the joyous Hari Raya ambience. At last, the song “Balik Kampung” became the highlight of the event, signifying the exciting arrival of Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

The event ended cheerily, and a group photo of the karaoke singers and accompanists, including teachers, staff, and students was taken. As Hari Raya edges close, we can feel the excitement from both the teachers and students, as some teachers and students will return home to their “kampung” to celebrate Hari Raya.
