Who wouldn’t want to be rich? Wealth plays a major role in building the bridge to financial freedom in one’s life, but how does one construct such prospects? These were topics covered by Mr Chin Lih Hooi in his talk regarding financial freedom.
The talk was held for Kuen Cheng High School’s Senior Middle Two students on the 25th of March 2023. Students filed into the school auditorium as the talk started around 10:15a.m.
Our speaker of the day, Mr Chin, started off by introducing himself as a speaker and supervisor from Buddha’s Light International Association. He’s also worked as a workshop coordinator in Malaysian prisons, counselling prisoners within.
What is wealth? According to Mr Chin, wealth can entail personal health, our meaning in life, legal wealth, family peace, a promised future and more. He emphasised on the importance of one’s freedom while not hurting anyone else in the process.
In terms of financial management, the speaker explained how one has to invest their time into gaining financial freedom as well. He introduced the categories that make up our finances such as income vs expenditure, assets vs liabilities. During this segment, students were given a piece of paper to differentiate which aspects of our lives belong in such categories.
Soon, the talk came to an end with a big group photo, commemorating the valuable lessons students acquired from the talk.
