The Chinese Lantern Festival (Yuanxiao Jie) is a traditional Chinese festival celebrated on the fifteenth day of the first month in the lunisolar Chinese calendar. In order to celebrate this festival, Kuen Cheng High School Hostel has organised a Lantern Festival Night, hosted mainly by Senior Middle 3 committee students.
The celebration started at 6 pm at the new hostel block, with the hostel students and teachers beginning to eat the hotpot prepared by the hostel canteen and Senior Middle 3 students. Besides the hotpot, there were chicken nuggets, fries, brownies, sweet dumplings (Tangyuan) and drinks.

The Senior Middle 3 students also prepared a special dance performance for the hostel students and teachers. There was also a photo booth, game booths and a lucky draw. The highlight of the event was none other than the God of Wealth (Cai Shen Yeh), who handed out angpows containing challenges for the students to complete.

The celebration came to an end at 8.30 pm, with the hostel students washing their pots and utensils. The hostel students went back to their respective dorms later in the night feeling full and joyful. It was a fun and entertaining night for everyone indeed.
