The emcees first started with a brief introduction about the Talk and then went ahead to invite our speaker of the day. Soon thereafter, Anson took the floor and started with a video demonstrating the photos and videos their institute produced. He then said that lighting is very important in photography. To take pictures with good lighting, you have to grasp the scene.

Moving on, Anson introduced the three main keys to look out for when taking photos: aperture. ISO, and shutter speed. For the aperture, you have to adjust it based on the lighting of the set. There is no fixed rate for aperture. Next is the ISO. He suggested that the suitable range for ISO indoor is 1600 to 800. If the ISO is too high, it will cause the picture to have noise, which makes the photos unpresentable. Lastly, the shutter speed. The bigger the rate of shutter speed, the faster the photo.

Next, Anson introduced the three kinds of lighting: soft light, hard light, and natural light. These different lights can be used differently to make the photo appealing. He then moved on to the main part of the talk: the three techniques of lighting. There is the void, perspective, and high difference. Firstly, there is the high difference. This technique is to use only one light source for the lighting. It will produce photos that look high-grade. Next is void. This technique is to leave the set as blank as possible except for the object. Lastly, perspective. This technique is to make use of shadows using strong light.
Perspective(透景)
After a small break, Anson started the live demonstration with his camera. He started by demonstrating the high difference technique. To use any lighting, we have to turn off any excess light. We use one light, either soft light, hard light, or natural light. He demonstrated the ways to use different lighting to make the photo look high quality. Next up, for the void technique, he used some blue and yellow manila cards for the background. This brightened up the photo. Lastly for the perspective technique, he made use of the art of shadows by placing a plant in front of the hard light. It was mesmerizing. Lastly, Anson demonstrated the use of photoshop for the details of the photo.

After the demonstration, Anson continued by showing the works by their institute’s students. Last but not least, there was a question and answer session. Anson answered many of the questions that students asked. Some questions involve beginner photography. The Talk then ended successfully.
