On 11th October 2021, the School held a briefing for Senior Middle 2 students about their upcoming trial exams to be held in school and the Senior Middle 3 syllabus during the weekly assembly. Our Principal, Dr Chua Lee Lee, together with the Head of the Academic Department as well as our Counselling Teacher, Madam Kang Ruey Chyi were the speakers of the event.

Madam Chua conveyed her concern about our school reopening, as announced by the Ministry of Education according to the National Recovery Plan, to begin on 18th October 2021,. The reopening of schools is carried out in stages according to the COVID-19 situation in most areas. Currently, the latest Delta variant is more contagious than ever; it transmits more easily and has a longer incubation period. Hence, the Principal gathered us here today to explain the school’s stance whilst understanding the student’s perspective regarding the trial exam.

Infection Prevention

Students must inform their Form Teacher if they have suspected COVID-19 symptoms to be excused from school. That includes their nearest family members, classmates or B & C group suspected patients as well. The School will reschedule their trials. Students must always follow the standard operating procedures (SOP), wash hands frequently, refrain from attending social events and check the COVID-19 status from their respective MySejahtera.

A Health Declaration Form will be provided before school reopens. It is advisable to wear two types of face masks, the outer layer made of fabric and the inner layer a surgical mask such as KF94 and KN95. Students must present their MySejahtera status to the teachers before entering the School. Then, they should return to class immediately after marking our attendance with the student ID card.

In class, students must maintain a safe distance between classmates. It is recommended to disinfect our seats every morning with antibacterial wipes or cloth. Only two students are allowed to use the toilet every time to prevent crowding in the hallway.

Apart from this, the School introduced COVID-19 rapid antigen kits (COVID-19 Self-test Kits) that could be easily found in local pharmacies. The Principal further encouraged that we take the test at least once a week when school reopens. The coloured band indicates the result of the test as shown in the picture below.

The School had also given out multiple surveys to gather our opinions regarding school reopening. The first one was “Senior Middle 2 students Intention Survey on Exam Preparation and Further Education Planning”. The second one was “Senior Middle 2 students questionnaire for Senior 3”. Parents are welcomed to join the seminar regarding our School’s Senior Middle 3 syllabus on 19/10/2021 (Tuesday). 9.30 am to 12 noon. The link to the seminar for parents is as follows:

Students reminded that their trial score will be recorded in the Sistem Pengurusan Peperiksaan atas Talian (SSPAT). Do not worry, as there will be mock experiment tests for SPM sessions during December. The Graduation Ceremony will also be held in December.

Senior 3

The above is the subject allocation for Senior Middle 3 syllabus. Senior Middle 2 students must pay RM 300 before 31/10/2021 to reserve their seats.

Our Counselling Teacher, Madam Kang, further explained about the Senior Middle 3 syllabus. Although local public universities will not accept the certificate for entrance, students can still apply for oversea’s universities or local private universities such as Sunway University and Peking University. Scholarship opportunities are also offered by the respective university.

The briefing concluded with a Q&A session. Hopefully, our Senior Middle 2 students could overcome any hardship and succeed in their future endeavours.
