To enhance understanding of the ecosystem, our Co-curricular Department has cooperated with the Floral Society to organise an activity, which entailed planting for the Junior Middle Three students on the 8th of March 2025.

Before the students started crafting their tiny worlds, the Floral Society members gave them some basic knowledge about the potted plant they were going to produce—a Terrarium. After that, students started working and planting their own terrariums.

First and foremost, the students modified the plastic bottle by cutting it into two-thirds, before adding some white rocks into it for the base of the plant. Next, they placed some soil on top of the rocks for the plant to grow.

Of course, a plant is required to call it a terrarium, so students lined up to choose their miniature plants to plant in their bottle. Students dug a small hole in the soil and placed their chosen plants in it. Then, students watered their plants by lightly spraying some water across the plastic bottle to avoid the water having pooled in the center of the terrarium.

At last, after watering their plants, the terrarium is done! The students in charge then explained a few plant care rules to the students on how to grow and maintain their plants. A terrarium is a little garden in a small container with small plants that do not need much water, so students only have to water it once every other week with just a bit of water.

This precious world is a world where vitality thrives. With hope, students can continue to cherish life and nature, building walls of greenery for the school campus and our home.
